Altek ABT-65Ah/12V GEL gel battery - The main difference between a gel battery and an ordinary oleic acid starter battery is the electrolyte. Gel battery electrolyte — is a thixotropic gel that consists of a mixture of sulfuric acid, colloidal silicon dioxide, water and phosphoric acid. A gel battery has a longer service life compared to starter batteries, especially in the case of cyclic discharges.
Gel oleic-acid batteries are made using technology with internal water recombination, so they do not require maintenance during the entire service life. As an electrolyte, concentrated sulfuric acid is used as a gel, which ensures the batteries' resistance to deep discharges and high temperature stability.
This model has the following properties:
does not require additional intervention and maintenance during operation;
there is no risk of deep discharge of the station;
a gel substance is used as a filler, which does not leak in case of damage;
restoration of the working state after deep discharge does not require a considerable amount of time;
low level of self-discharge;
efficiency and sufficient energy consumption of gel batteries.
A gel battery consists of:
plates with a positive charge made of lead dioxide;
plates with a negative charge made of lead;
container and lid made of acrylonitrile butytadienestyrene;
safety rubber valve;
copper terminals;
separator (sponge) made of GEL glass;
electrolyte — sulfuric acid.
Used in:
uninterruptible power supply systems;
wind generator power plants;
solar power plants;
uninterruptible power supply system.
Altek ABT-65Ah/12V GEL gel battery charge is one of the most important conditions successful operation of gel batteries. The correct choice of charging mode has the most appropriate effect on the performance and service life of batteries.
For gel batteries, the charging voltage range of the buffer mode is set in the range of 2.23-2.28 V/el-t (at 25 °C).
For cyclic mode, the range of charging voltage is set in the range of 2.38-2.42 V/el-t (at 25 °C).
