The lead-acid battery ALVA battery AW12-5 is produced using new generation AGM technology.
A battery produced using AGM technology has a number of advantages over classic batteries obtained due to this technology. In particular, vibration resistance, maintenance-free, installation in almost any position (upside down installation is not recommended for safety reasons due to the top position of the valves). Some manufacturers claim increased performance of such batteries or high starting current.
Maintenance-free design.
Significantly lower self-discharge than modern lead-acid batteries.
Up to 2.5 times faster charging speed than modern lead-acid batteries.
The ability to accept a charge well, in comparison with other types of lead-acid batteries, reduces the negative effect of a constant incomplete charge by a battery generator in urban vehicle operating conditions, leading to premature failure of the battery.
Not sensitive to short-term “deep” battery conditions. discharge, unlike calcium (Ca/Ca) lead-acid batteries.
Sealed and valve-regulated design prevents acid leakage and terminal corrosion.
Safer operation: Properly charging batteries eliminates the possibility of off-gassing and danger of explosion.
The sealed design allows the battery to be installed in almost any position (upside down is not recommended).
Confident operation at low temperatures, depending on the technology, down to −30 °C (below, crystallization of the discharged electrolyte is possible batteries and, as a consequence, reduced service life due to damage to the active surface).
